Building Ukraine Together - is a non-governmental organization that creates opportunities for youth to make a difference in the country through volunteering. BUR has developed a unique model of youth empowerment through volunteering, non-formal education, financing of business and educational projects, mentoring and building trust, which they successfully applied in 87 cities across Ukraine. They have volunteer centers in 7 regions of Ukraine : Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Chernihiv, Zakarpattia , Zaporizhzhia, Okhtyrka.
BURÂ has 3 types of projects that you can join:
- BURchic - the local event of mutual aid and good neighborliness aiming at providing support to families in need and inspiring the community residents to take responsibility and participate in positive changes. Duration: 1-3 days
- BUR-camp - volunteer construction camp in small towns or villages of Ukraine, which attracts young people from all over the country to volunteer. Duration: 7-9 days
- Long-term volunteering - a complex project aimed at the mutual development of volunteers and communities. Duration: 3 months
All volunteers undergo training on construction safety and get all necessary protective equipment to avoid any injuries. Each BUR camp is accompanied by experienced volunteers - cam-leaders, who help volunteers to solve any issues, as well as to fulfill themselves as much as possible within the camp. And their craftsmen are always ready to help, give advice and each volunteers new useful skills and abilities in the construction field.
Type of work for volunteers:
- rebuilding of damaged or destroyed houses, schools;
- evening activities, group conversations;
- personal development;
- morning exercise routines.
